How Much Wedding Day Coverage Do You Really Need?

Wedding ceremony in a brick-walled venue. A couple stands facing each other, surrounded by guests seated on wooden chairs. Elegant and formal mood.

When it comes to wedding photography, one of the most common questions I get is: "How many hours of coverage do we need?" And honestly, the answer is - it depends!

Every wedding day is unique, and your photography coverage should reflect your plans, priorities, and guests. I offer collections that range from 4 hours - perfect for intimate elopements - to 8 hours (with the option of adding on additional hours). Here's a quick guide to help you decide what collection is right for you:

4 Hours - Intimate and Intentional

Perfect for elopements or very small weddings with 50 guests or lower. If it's just you and your fiance, a small wedding party, and a short ceremony followed by a relaxed dinner - 4 hours may be all you need to capture everything about your day.

6 Hours - The Essentials

This is great for couples who want to capture the main moments of the day: final touches of getting ready, the ceremony, portraits, and part of the reception. You'll get a beautiful full story of your day without all the late night dancing photos.

7 Hours - A Little Extra

If you're planning a few extra moments like a first look or private vows, 7 hours gives us a little more breathing room. This gives us extra time to slow down and document all those special moments!

8 Hours - The Complete Story

For couples who want it all - from getting ready in the morning to the final dance / send off at night - 8 hours (or more) is perfect! If you're dreaming of lots of getting ready photos with your girls and late night party moments, this collection is for you.

Still not sure?

When you book with me, we'll walk through your timeline together so you don't have to guess. I'll help you figure out exactly how much coverage you need based on your vision and priorities.

And don't worry! If your timeline gets behind or the party goes a little longer and you decide you want just one more dance photo, you can always add extra time on the day of your wedding! Your wedding day should feel like you. Your photography coverage should, too. Let's create a timeline that tells your story in a way that feels natural, beautiful, and true to your day.
