Geneva Hills

When I was getting married, I really struggled to find the perfect venue. We eventually found one, and this post is all about it. Our wedding was at Geneva Hillslocated in Lancaster, Ohio.

Geneva Hills is a church camp, but they often host weddings as well. The ceremony site has many rows of solid, handmade wooden benches along the aisle. There’s plenty of room to be surrounded by your friends and family on your big day. I love this location because it is in the middle of beautiful woods. My husband, Jacob, and I enjoy hiking together, so we felt it was the right place to say our vows!

Our reception was held inside the lodge, which overlooks the ceremony site. The open floorplan gives you so many options for the layout of your tables and dancefloor. Almost all the walls are floor to ceiling sliding glass doors. They allow in so much natural light-it’s a dream for photographers!

I really enjoyed the wrap around deck; it helped with the mingling of guests.

The concrete patio below the deck is just right for outdoor games, like cornhole. The surrounding yard has room for mingling and more games. There is even a fire pit that you can make smores on- I loved having the option for a bonfire because I wanted our guests to feel comfortable.

If you book your wedding at Geneva Hills, you get use of the venue and a cute little cabin for 3 days. You can stay there overnight if you like or use it how I did- for the bridal party to get ready. It has a living room with a vaulted ceiling and french doors leading out to a deck that’s surrounded by trees- an amazing spot for bridal portraits! There’s a little kitchenette and a bathroom as well so it was the perfect for us to relax and get ready before the festivities began. There are also plenty of bunk rooms in the lodge for your spouse to get ready.

Such a cute cabin!

If you love being outdoors and like the feel of a rustic wedding, then Geneva Hills is the right wedding venue for you!
