This month's recommended vendor is The Mill Event Center based in my hometown; Lancaster, Ohio! I first came across The Mill when it was getting renovated a couple years ago. I fell in love with it the moment I walked in the door. Soon after they opened, I hosted my first styled shoot there and have photographed multiple weddings at The Mill since then.
I love photographing at The Mill partly because of its history and beauty and partly because the staff there are so nice! For this blog post, I spoke to Hannah, the Event Manager at The Mill. When asked what her favorite part of managing a wedding venue she said, "My favorite part about managing a wedding venue is getting to see all the different creative outlets. I get to work with many talented people I may have never met had I not been in this industry. Every wedding is different and getting to see multiple people pursue their passion is overly rewarding. Couples spend months, even years planning and dreaming about their special day. To be able to be a part of making someone’s dream day come true is one of the greatest feelings."
The Mill Event Center offers many services including an all season patio, high end commercial kitchen, 2 dressing rooms, state-of-the-art audio/visual system, handicap accessibility and a fully stocked bar with a 14 tap craft beer system. Before your event you will have a consultation with their professional and very experienced Event Manager. During this meeting they will guide you into making your vision a reality. The week of your event you will drop off your guest and head table centerpieces and table décor. The Mill's professional staff will then set up and decorate your tables with your choice of white, black, or ivory linens and the décor that you have provided. Seating for up to 225 will also be set up with beautiful mahogany Chiavari chairs with black pads.
They will also take care of setting up all additional tables including; buffet tables, cake table, guestbook table, gift table, and DJ table. You will have full access to their state-of-the-art audio and visual equipment. While they have some amazing recommendations for catering, the choice is yours. The caterer that you choose (must be a licensed caterer) will have access to the full commercial kitchen, including the ice machine. At the end of the evening the staff will have all the décor that you provided neatly packed up and ready for you. That’s it! They will handle all the tear down and cleaning!
Many couples usually ask at what point should they book their venue? Hannah says "This really depends on when you would like to get married. May and October are primetime wedding months here at The Mill Event Center. So if you’re thinking you want a nice Spring or Fall wedding I would highly suggest booking no less than a year out. Typical booking time should be about 12-16 months prior."

I have photographed many weddings at The Mill and have around five more booked there this year! I have to say that The Mill is one of my favorite venues.
